Real Advokatbyrå advised Hemsö Fastighets AB in the acquisition of a University Campus in Uppsala from Akademiska Hus

Real advised Hemsö in their acquisition of a university campus in central Uppsala, which will be subject to development projects. The total investment amounts to approximately SEK 1 billion.

The property Kronåsen 1:15 consists of 20 buildings and constitutes the majority of the so called ITC area at Campus Polacksbacken. Following completion of the development projects, the property will have a lettable area of 28,300 square meters in total and the campus will offer school places for approximately 2,400 students. Hemsö has entered into a 10-year lease agreement with the municipality of Uppsala for a new upper secondary school with the aim of creating an attractive upper secondary school campus and a new primary school.

Hemsö commenced operations in 2009 when the company acquired its first properties and is now considered one of Sweden’s leading companies in properties for public use. The business is focused on owning, managing and developing properties for nursing homes, education, care facilities and premises for the legal sector. Hemsö owns properties in Sweden, Germany and Finland.

Hemsö is currently managing development projects in Sweden, Finland and Germany and thereby creating more than 10,000 new primary and secondary school places. In addition hereto, multiple other school and development projects are planned and expected to be launched in 2021, which will create approximately 6,000 new school places.
